How can I write an article?

When you have been promoted in our system as an author, you can start to write your first article. There are several ways how to accomplish this, but let us introduce to you some key points that you should be aware:

  • You should only write an article about destinations where you have been in person, since our web is about your own experiences traveling with kids. If you can provide us with a proof (air tickets, accommodation bills, etc.) that you have really been on that location, your article will be marked as "certified", and will be paid higher.
  • At this time we accept only articles written in English. If you are unsure of your knowledge of English language, don't worry, since we will do complete proofing and editing prior to publishing.
  • You will need to have at least 9 photos per article of resolution of 1024x768 pixels or higher, and smaller than 8 Gbytes in size. If you have pictures of higher resolution they will be scaled-down to fit the required resolution automatically while uploading to the site. If the size of the file is larger then 8 Gbytes, you will have to resize image prior to uploading using one of the image manipulation programs on your computer.
  • You will have to mark on the map at least one location per day, so please have them ready.

When you are ready to write an article you will have several options, and the fee that we will pay to you will be impacted by your choice:

  • You can write article directly on our site by using online WYSIWYG editor that incorporates English spell-checker. The article can be saved and modified several times before publishing. This option is highly recommended.
  • You could also write your article on your computer in any editor, and then copy/paste it to editor on our site. Please be aware that there might be issues while copying and that there might be need for further editing to achieve requested text formatting. This option is not recommended.

We are aware that writing to our site directly can be somehow difficult in the beginning so you can send us an article in any of other methods we've explained and start to write directly to our site your next article.

How much will I be paid?

Your payments will consist of two parts: one is fixed part that you will be paid after the article is published, and the other is revenue share from advertising network, that we will pay you on a monthly basis.

The fixed part is calculated based on the type of the article that you have submitted and the way how you have done it. The types of articles are distinguished as:

  • easy (one-day, single destination or just an brief overview)
  • medium (two-three days, couple of destinations or more detailed overview)
  • complex (multiple days, several destinations and in-depth analysis of the destination(s) )

The following table shows you the amounts of the fixed part of your payment as of November 1st, 2013:

COUNTRIES / TYPE EASY MEDIUM COMPLEX
U.S. 25$ 50$ 75$
EUROPE, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZAELAND, NORTH AMERICA 30$ 60$ 90$
ASIA 40$ 80$ 120$
AFRICA, SOUTH AMERICA 60$ 120$ 180$

In addition to fix part of the payment, you will also become eligible for a revenue share on monthly basis. This part is highly volatile, so it's quite difficult to make an calculation, but out authors do get few dollars per article per month.
