Colorado Springs

May

We visited Colorado Springs, Colorado for a couple days on a road trip when our kids were younger. It's still one of our very favorite places we've ever traveled! While we were there, we visited Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Is it Safe to Travel to India with Children?

Apr
18

Many parents wish to travel to exotic places, and India almost always makes it to the list. India is probably a dream destination for a number of people, but being a parent often puts you in a very nerve-racking position. You need to be responsible, make careful decisions and choose the side of caution. When it comes to traveling, decisions can be almost impossible to make- how can I make a responsible decision if I have never been there??

Nelson Atkins Museum - Kansas City Missouri

Apr
17

It's funny how you make an effort to visit museums and other places when you're traveling, but not at home. We've lived in Kansas City since we were kids and yet, we'd only taken our kids to the Nelson-Atkins museum (http://nelson-atkins.org/) one time. One Friday evening in April, the weather was gorgeous and we decided to take the kids down to the Nelson for a picnic on the lawn. The museum itself is incredible, but the lawn is simply breathtaking! It's well-landscaped and giant shuttlecocks rest in the grass, not far from some other incredible artwork.

Toscana (Tuscany) and Roma (Rome)

Mar
28

Our first destination for the spring school break was Česky Krumlov in Czech Republic, but the terrible weather condition forced us to change destination in the last minute. Looking around where we can easily arrive with car within 5-6 hours drive, and that the weather is acceptable, it turned out that the nice places on the Tirrenian sea (North-West Italy) is the best solution. In the end, its better to avoid snow and icy weather with little kids (unless you are going for skiing) and to go where the weather is much prettier. We decided to go to the Tuscany mainly to visit Cinqueterre and Florence. But the weather has mind of its own, so we had to adapt ...

France, Monaco and Italy in winter time

Feb
17

It's so common that people during winter go skiing, but we made another decision and departed for sunnier places. Our final destination on this voyage was in Cannes, France, since my husband had some business obligations there, so we decided to go together and visit Verona and Pisa in Italy during the outbound and inbound trip with our car. It was first longer voyage that we made with our 8-months old son, and our 10-years old daughter traveled around the world already. For all of us, except my husband, it was a first voyage to this cities in Italy and first time ever visit to France.

A short visit to Egypt

Jan
11

We went to Egypt for pure curiosity. Nobody of us three was there before this voyage. I don't know why we didn't went to Cairo but to Hurgada instead, probably because it's well known tourist destination on the sea. I was so young at the time and I couldn't wait to enter airplane and fly to Egypt.

Tapolca - Boating Through Underground Cave

Jan
01

One-day excursion to the Hungarian town called Tapolca was an excellent choice that both children and adults have enjoyed. My husband and myself with our three kids together with four of our friends went there with two cars. The very exclusive attraction is an underground river which flows under the town with magnificent cave system that can be visited and explored by small boats.

10 days trip to Scotland and Ireland

Dec
13

Our big trip was carefully planned because in only ten days we have planned to visit more then 12 cities in England, Scotland, Ireland and North Ireland. It was our longest trip with daughter with us ever. We were waiting for Easter school holidays in our country so that our daughter can go with us. I think, we've never before planned trips in such details, but it was elemental thing to be able to visit so many places in so little time. I highly suggest these destination for family holidays.

Gardaland

Dec

Italy is very nice country and we have visited it a lot of times. Lago di Garda is our favorite lakes in northern Italy. Every time we come we discover new places around the lake, and enjoy countryside around it. In one article it isn’t possible to describe all experiences, so I decided to deal with just one of our great experiences in Gardaland, the magic word for kids and adults. We came by car and had accommodation in Malcesine. This locality isn't so close to Gardaland (around 50km), but it doesn't matter because we wanted to take a tour around the lake, and see a lot of locations on the lake shore.

Netherlands in Spring

Dec
08

Visit to Amsterdam in May 2009 remained in more pleasant memory than the visits I've done before that. It's not because of the beautiful sighs or the things going on, but because of the Spring time and the weather conditions. Some years before I went with my husband in January, and the thing that I remember most was the cold winter and late sunrises. Fortunately, this time was much better weather, warmer, so we decided to take our kids with us which made our stay even more pleasant. We were able to visit Amsterdam, Hague, Madurodam, Keukenhof and Kinderdijk.
